At CfeL, the prestigious e-PG Pathshala projects of UGC under NMEICT of MHRD, Govt. of India, for six subjects namely, Commerce, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Economics, Psychology and Business Economics are being executed. Under these projects, high quality multimedia enriched e-content for post-graduate courses is being developed. For each subject, e-content for 16 papers(4 papers per semester) is being developed using UGC curriculum. Each paper has been divided into about 35 modules. For each module e-content includes four features namely (i) e-text, (ii) Self learn videos of duration 20-30minutes, (iii) Self assess which consists of both subjective and objective questions (with feed back for both correct/incorrect options to facilitate self learning and self assessment) and (iv) Learn more consisting of various value additions such as common misconceptions, points to ponder, do yourself, did you know etc. Under this massive national project the development of nearly 3000 videos, 35000 pages of e-text, 40000 questions and 15000 value additions is nearing completion.
The quality and quantity of the e-content developed by the CFEL has been adjudged to be the best amongst the total of 67 subjects at the national level.
The e-content developed at the centre for e-learning is highly multimedia enriched with a rigorous development methodology involving stages like content authoring, reviewing, scientific/language editing, testing etc. ensuring quality output.
For the first time in history of Indian education system, the contribution of one e-module as content writer is now equivalent to 10 points in the API as per UGC’s latest notification. UGC’s Gazette notification regarding this is as given below:
