Certificate Course in Personality Development, Employability Skills and Communication Skills

DURATION :- 60 hrs spread over Two Months (Either on 3 alternate days a week or on Saturdays & Sundays)

ABOUT THE COURSE :- The “Certificate Course in Personality Development, Employability Skills and Communication Skills” course has been developed to equip the learners to be ready for employment by upgrading their skills in personality and communications. It shall help the students in understanding the emergence of self from developmental, experiential, humanistic and Indian perspectives, with the goal to enhance their personal growth/well-being.

The course also aims at helping its learners understand the concept of emotional intelligence, how it is different from the concept of IQ, and its application in the workplace, personal relationships and conflict management. The concept of communication, both verbal and non-verbal communication, along with various methods to establish an effective communication will also be discussed.

The concept of leadership, various types of leadership styles, various issues and challenges faced by a leader, along with the concept of conflict, its causes, its effects and lastly the concept of conflict, along with the various strategies to manage conflict will also be discussed with interesting indoor/outdoor activities. Further, developing future plans and the precautions that are needed to be taken will also be discussed. Insights from Entrepreneur Experience, Interviews, Group Discussion, Mock Interviews etc., shall be the highlights of this course.

• Admissions to the course shall be strictly based on First come- first serve basis/ Personal Interview with discretionary rights reserved with the Principal/ Course Coordinators)
• The candidate must apply in a duly prescribed format (application form), with all supporting documents annexed in photocopies.
• After admission to the course, a Login ID and password will be generated for opted subject(s). The candidate may log on to the allotted subject and study the subject from the “e- content” available at the web- portal.
• Practical training on the concerned subject shall be given only in the in-house laboratory of the institute.

At the end of the study program/ course, the candidates may be asked to appear in an indicative test to enhance the learning skills. Certificate will be issued only to those candidates who have attended prescribed number of lecture/ practical hours (in aggregate).

FEE STRUCTURE :- Rs. 15,000/- per student.

• Personality traits, types and states: Personality Assessment: Objective Methods, Catell’s 16-PF/ Big Five Factors: A Brief Profile, Projective Methods: Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)
• CV writing
• Interview & Group Discussion, Mock Interviews
• Counselling: Career, individual & groups
• Stress and its management: Sources of stress, determinants and coping strategies- individual and organisational.
• Communication: verbal and non-verbal, barriers and overcoming, effective communication.
• Social Etiquettes: Self-presentation, Social awareness, Mannerism.
• Leadership in Organizations:Leadership in Organizations, Basic Approaches to Leadership, Developing Leadership Skills, Contemporary Issues in Leadership.
• Leadership Development: Characteristics of Leadership (developing confidence, assertiveness), Effective Delegation, Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution
• Conflict and its Management: Conflict and Negotiation, Occupational Stress & Worker Wellbeing, Conflict Management strategies.
• Goal Setting and Motivation: Basic concept, various stages, Goal Performance relationship, learning how to set goals, Group goals, Goals and motivations.
• Developing Future Plans: Vision, Steps involved in planning, Precautions.

• The Pre-admission form can be downloaded from our website cfel.in or can be obtained from the Centre for e Learning, S.G.T.B Khalsa College, University of Delhi, between 10 am to 5 pm, on all working days.
• The complete form with recent passport sized colored photograph attached, along with the self-attested photocopies of required mark-sheets and self attested photocopy of a valid ID-Proof should be either scanned and mailed at cfel.pdcc@gmail.com or can be sent by a post, addressed to the “Director, Centre for e Learning, S.G.T.B Khalsa College, North Campus, University of Delhi, 110007”, before the due date.
• The last date for application is Thursday, 15 December 2016.

A confirmatory mail will be send to the selected candidates before the commencement of the course (i.e., before 4th January 2017).
